PRIVACY POLICY
Your movie life belongs to you.
This policy explains what Watchlogue collects, why it is used, and the choices you have.
Last updated: July 21, 2026
1. Information we collect
Account and profile information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication information. You may also provide a username, display name, profile photo URL, biography, country, profile visibility, streaming services, and movie preferences.
Your movie activity
We store the information you choose to add, including diary entries, viewing dates and methods, ratings, reviews, private notes, spoiler flags, watchlist items, favorite films, followed actors and directors, franchises, challenges, trophies, top-five selections, recommendation preferences, and feedback.
Technical information
Watchlogue and its infrastructure providers may automatically receive information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, timestamps, error logs, and security events. We use this to run, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
2. How we use information
- Provide accounts, profiles, diary features, recommendations, challenges, trophies, and statistics.
- Remember your settings and show streaming availability for your selected country and services.
- Send essential account emails such as confirmation and password-reset messages.
- Protect Watchlogue from fraud, abuse, and security threats.
- Find and fix errors and understand how to improve the product.
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms.
3. What other people can see
Profiles are private unless you choose public visibility. A public profile may show your username, display name, profile photo, biography, selected favorite films and people, movie statistics, and earned challenge trophies. Information marked private—including private notes—is not shown on your public profile. Review your profile before sharing its link.
4. When information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We use service providers to operate Watchlogue:
- Supabase for authentication, databases, and account infrastructure.
- Vercel for hosting, delivery, security, and technical logs.
- Resend for transactional account emails.
- TMDB for movie and person metadata and images.
- JustWatch, through TMDB, for streaming availability information.
These providers process information only as needed to provide their services and under their own terms and privacy practices. We may also disclose information when legally required, to protect people or the service, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale after providing notice where required.
5. Cookies and browser storage
Watchlogue uses first-party cookies to keep you signed in and protect your account. We may use browser storage for interface settings and temporary state. We do not currently use advertising cookies or sell or share information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because Watchlogue does not engage in that tracking, a browser “Do Not Track” signal does not change the service’s behavior.
6. Retention and security
We keep account and movie activity information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and satisfy legal obligations. Provider backups and security logs may remain for a limited period after deletion. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
You can edit most profile information and change profile visibility in Watchlogue. You may ask for a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal information, or close your account, by contacting support@watchlogue.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your information and to appeal a request decision.
8. Children
Watchlogue is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Watchlogue changes. We will change the date above and provide additional notice when a change is material. Continued use after an update means the revised policy applies going forward.
10. Contact
Questions or privacy requests can be sent to support@watchlogue.com.
